Although BLUF doesn't require members to specify their ages on profiles, it is possible to enter your date of birth on your profile so that your age will be calculated automatically when someone looks at the profile.

To do that, you just enter your date of birth in the form #YYYY-MM-DD# anywhere in your profile text; you must include the # symbols, and the date must be in that format. For example, if you put the text

I am #1970-04-01# years old

in your profile, then it would say "I am 44 years old" in 2014, and change to 45 in April 2015.

As of today, there are 218 profiles that have had age information added to them, or just under 7%. That may not be enough to be completely representative of BLUF membership, but it does mean that I've been able to create the graph below, showing the distribution of member ages for the three countries with the largest number of BLUF members, UK, USA and Germany. In those countries, 5.87%, 7.16% and 6.36% of members respectively have added their age to their profile in this way.

In the diagram, the inner circle represents the UK, the middle USA, and the outer is Germany.

If substantially more people add their age to their profiles, I'll update the graph some time in future.
