Drummer Magazine presents The Ambush: A tribute to the legendary San Francisco leather bar.
Join us during Palm Springs Leather Pride to celebrate the relaunch of Drummer Magazine and the scene it helped create.
The Ambush (1973-1986) at 1351 Harrison St in SoMa was a favorite hangout for many San Francisco leathermen. Over the years the Ambush became known for its kinky art shows, state-of-the-art sound system, sex in the bathroom and LSD. All of this was writ-large by the artistry of Chuck Arnett, whose heavy artwork for the Ambush set the tone of this long-lost leather space.
DRUMMER® is a legendary gay men’s leather magazine which ran from1975-99. The magazine is relaunching as a quarterly on October 1st, 2019.
